Description:

Enamelled bowl with yellow ground with spreading sides rounded below and everted at the lip; tapered foot. Round the outside reserved on a ground of deep lemon-yellow enamel and outlined chieftly in black are painted scrolls of feathery leaves with sprays of peony, hibiscus, lotus, orchid, passion-flower and (?) pomegranate, and on the bottom inside are five bats in iron-red, symbolising the Five Happinesses.

Comments:

This decoration was created during the Qianlong period (1736-1795).
